HP StorageWorks 3000/5000 Enterprise Virtual Array connectivity for OpenVMS installation and reference guide (5697-7043, November 2007)

2 Testing connections to the
Enterprise Virtual Array
This chapter describes how to test connections between the operating system host server and the
Enterprise Virtual Array. Virtual disks are set up and presented to your host server to test the connectivity
and to begin using the disks.
Adding hosts
You can add a host using HP Command View EVA soft ware. You must add ea ch FC A system for that FCA
to work with the EVA. Perform the following procedure:
1. Collect information on World Wide Names for each FCA on your server. You need this information
when selecting the host FCAs in HP Command View EVA.
To obtain this information on AlphaServers, issue the show device fg/full OVMS command;
use the WWID
MGR —SHOW PORT comma nd at the SRM console; and then continue with
Step 2 on page 14.
To obtain this information on IntegrityServers, issue the show device fg/full OVMS command
and then execute the following procedure from the server console:
a. From the EFI boot manager, select EFI Shell.
b. In the EFI
shell, select Sh ell > drivers.
A list of EFI drivers loaded in the system is displayed.
c. In the list, ndthelinefortheFCAforwhichyouwanttogettheWWNinformation.

e. Using the d river and device h a n dle, enter the drvdfg —s driver_handle device_handle
