Prerequisites
Multipathing support
A Sun Solaris system with EVA3000/5000 storage requires the installation of either Sun Solaris
MPxIO/Multipathing or VERITAS VxVM/DMP multipathing software on each host to achieve
high-availability, multipath capabilit y. Sun Solaris MPxIO/Multipathing and VERITAS VxVM/DMP
multipathing software require at least one FCA connected to both controllers. VERITAS VxVM/DM P c an
require installation of an array support library in order to recognize the arrays. For more information, see

VCS 3.028 to VCS 4.00x migration
The Active/Active failover feature in VCS 4.00x impacts host confi gurations. Contact your HP service
representative to confi gure your system and perform the m igration procedure.
Compatibility/interoperability
This release p rovides full support for all previous EVA controller soft ware used in an existing SA N
configuration.
