Prerequisites

Multiple-path support

Multiple-path capability is integrated into the HP-UX system. No additional software is required to

achieve high-availability, multiple-path capability. You have the following options:

• Native multipathing functionality

• HP-UX PVLinks multipathing solutions

Single-path support

HP-UX server

s require a single Fibre Channel adapter (FCA) to suppor t single-path mode.

NOTE:

VCS 3.028 to VCS 4.00x migration

The Active/Active failover feature in VCS 4.00x impacts host con ﬁgura tions. Contact your HP service

representative to conﬁgure you r system and perform the migration procedure.

Compatibility/interoperability

This release provides full support for all previous EVA controller software used in an existing SAN

conﬁguration.

Required patches

The HP-recommended patches for HP-UX 11iV1.0 are included in the GO LDQPK11i patch set, availab le

on the HP-supplied Support Media CD.

Switch support

This release supports the Fibre Channel (FC) switches and ﬁrmware versions listed in the HP StorageWorks

SAN design reference guide, available for download on the HP support website:

NOTE:

HP recommends that you

not

mix switch ﬁrmware versions in your SAN. It is a best practice to uni formly
