When a maximally configured system is running at maximum load, codeload functionality is not effective
due to Secure Path tim ing constraints. The system may time-out before codeloa d is complete. Therefore,
you should per form VCS upgrades at a n off-peak time.

ning. This function is not supported on p-Series systems that support hot swapping, because
it hangs the s
erver. To replace an FCA, you must firstshutdowntheserver.
PCI hot addition of FCAs not supported
You cannot add a FCA to an empty PCI slot while the system is running because the hot add ition of the
FCA fails. You must shut down the server in order to add a n FCA.
FCA driver does not support Extended Error Handling (EEH)

rror H andling (EEH) is a mechanism built into the p-Series servers that allows the servers to
isolate a f
aulty FCA and shut i t down. IBM AIX conne ctivity does not support EEH.
devices.scsi.disk.rte fileset
Do not use version 5.1.0.51 or 5.1.0.5 2 of the devices.scsi.disk.rte fileset bec ause this causes
a loss of connectivity for all child devices of SWIA1-PD or A7539 A FC HBAs.
