Description
This release notes discusses the most recent product information about HP Storage Management Pack
for System Center.
Overview
The HP Storage Management Pack is designed to receive alerts and events from the HP Storage
portfolio to the HP Storage Management Pack for System Center software. It enables you to monitor
and administer the HP Storage devices.
New Features
The HP Storage Management Pack for System Center v2.0 includes the following features:
• Supports Diagram View of an HP E5000 Messaging System with single chassis component.
• Supports Diagram View of an HP Storage P4000 System.
• Supports SAN/iQ versions 9.0 and 9.5 for an HP Storage P4000 System.
• Support all events and alerts generated by HP X5000 System.
• Support all events and alerts generated by HP 3PAR Storage System.
• Introduces changes in the naming conventions of the various product families.
• HPStorageManagementPackforSystemCenterUserGuide-2.0.pdf (User Guide) is placed
in the installation directory (~\Program Files\HP\HP Enterprise Storage for a 32–bit operating
system and ~\Program Files(x86)\HP\HP Enterprise Storage for a 64–bit operating system). This
occurs during HP Storage Management Pack installation. It is also included as a separate file in
the ZIP Folder Needed folder, which can be downloaded from the web.
Known Problems Fixed in This Version
• Fix for the discovery of 64 Bit Command View EVA servers or WEBES servers.
Known Problems and Limitations
• Auto Import and Upgrade fails on v1.5.3:
Auto Import and Upgrade do not work if HP StorageWorks Management Pack v1.5.3 is installed
in OpsMgr 2007.
Severity: Low.
Corrective Action: Manually delete the HP StorageWorks Management Pack v1.5.3 from OpsMgr
2007 and then start installing HP StorageWorks Management Pack v1.8 or later.
• No Warning Message displayed before upgrading the WEBES Listener Service:
When WEBES Listener Service is upgraded to a new version on Microsoft Windows Server 2003
operating system, the installer stops the running WebesEventListener service without displaying
any warning message and starts installing the new version of the WEBES Listener Service.
Severity: Medium.
