Issue Resolution
I cannot run HP Insight Environmental
Configurator from the Windows Vista
Start menu.
1 Right-click the Configurator shortcut.
2 Select Run as administrator.
The rack base station icons are too
small or too large in relation to the
rack size.
The scaling is not accurate, or the scaling was not updated after the
new background image was uploaded. For more information on the
scale, see Setting the background scale (on page 10).
When I place an object on the
background image, I select the type
of sensor object and the location, but
the object does not appear on the
floor plan image in the location I
selected.
1 Select the object in the object category twice.
2 Select the location on the background image to place the object.
3 Confirm that you are not in object duplicate mode.
I cannot export my project. I receive
a message stating that the database
cannot be found.
The server does not have HP Insight Environmental Observer on it,
or the Environment Server might not be running on the server.
1 Launch Windows Services manager (Control panel>Performance
and maintenance>Administrative tools>Services).
2 Start all HP Insight Environmental services before exporting.
The data center floor plan displayed
on the Observer web interface is not
current. How do I update the floor
plan?
1 Using the Configurator software, open the existing project.
2 Select Setup>Reload background image.
3 When prompted, select the most recent floor plan image.
4 If the old and new images are not using the same scale, set the
background scale ("Setting the background scale" on page 10).
5 Save the changes and export the floor plan ("Exporting the
configuration file" on page 96).
When I exported my configuration, I
received the following error
message:
This project file is out of sync with the
server.
If multiple copies of the configuration DL file are edited and changed
by different machines, they might be out of sync with the registered
copy on the Edge server.
1 Go to the journal directory under the Configurator directory.
(C:\Program Files\HP\HP Insight Environmental Software\HP
Insight Environmental Configurator\journal)
2 Copy the last successful file to another directory.
3 Rename the new file with the .DL extension.
4 Use the new DL file as your current configuration file.
When I try to run the Configurator
software, I received the following
error message:
JNI exception: failed to create Java
In order to run, the Configurator requires at least 1.5GB of virtual
memory available. Verify that your computer has virtual memory
available to support the program, and if necessary, close any
unused applications to free up virtual memory.
