Insight Environmental Configuration User Guide
Maintaining an existing project 102
Replacing a different base station
If you are replacing the base station with one of a different configuration:
1. Delete the old base station object ("Deleting an object" on page 103).
2. Add a new base station object in the correct location and configuration ("Placing objects" on page
27).
Swapping base stations
Swapping the base stations is the best option when two base stations are installed in incorrect locations
or you want to swap their positions, but you want to keep their prior history and minimize errors.
1. Enter the MAC ID of base station 1 into the object representing base station 2. For more information,
see Assigning MAC IDs (on page 84).
2. Enter the MAC ID of base station 2 into the object representing base station 1. For more information,
see Assigning MAC IDs (on page 84).
3. Update the Name property for both base stations. For more information, see Naming objects (on
page 82).
4. Export the project ("Exporting the configuration file" on page 96) to update the system database.
Changing the background image
Because many data centers frequently change layouts, a specific menu option reloads the background
image or floor plan.
1. Verify that the transparency layer is added to your project. For more information, see Creating a
transparent area (on page 107).
2. Select Setup>Reload background image.
3. Select the floor plan image to load into the project.
NOTE: If the graphic image of the floor plan is a different size from the original, you might
need to set the scale ("Setting the background scale" on page 10) or adjust the location of
the objects.
4. Export the project ("Exporting the configuration file" on page 96) to update the system database and
graphic files.
