Configuration
Software component configuration
After all HP Insight Environmental software has been installed, you must configure each component.
Virus protection configuration
Virus software locks files to scan them for patterns of bits. Before installation, configure any virus scanning
programs to ignore the C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\data directory. The files in the
directories under the data directory are binary data files and are not executed at any time.
Backup software configuration
Configure backup software to ignore the C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1 data directory. To
backup the MySQL database, you must issue the following command: mysqldump–uroot–pdbuser
synap > filename.sql.
This command creates a sql script in the filename.sql file that re-creates the init_db database. You can
place the script file in another directory to be backed up.
Configuring recovery options
You can configure HP Insight Environmental to respond automatically to Windows service errors. HP
recommends configuring automatic recovery for all HP Insight Environmental services. To configure recovery
options, complete the steps outlined in the following example:
1. Click Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>Administrative Tools>Services to launch Windows
Services manager.
2. Choose one of the following options to launch the properties dialog box for the service you are
configuring:
