Solutions (EBS) Compatibility Matrix - BackUp, Recovery & Archive
How To Use This Document
As a best practice, storage platforms should always run active firmware and software versions. Systems running inactive firmware or software versionsface an
increased risk from exposure to known (and unknown) issues. If a system running inactive firmware or software encounters an issue, HP Services will work with
you to upgrade to an active version.
Additional technical information, guidelines and rules can be found in the Enterprise Backup Solution Design Guide and various Backup Application
Implementation Guides located on the web at:
This document shows compatibility for SAN media servers. A SAN media server is defined as a server with direct access to backup devices. Other operating
systems may be supported within EBS by the respective ISVs as LAN clients, where a LAN client does not have direct access to the backup device but is backed up
over a LAN connection to a server with direct access to backup devices to the backup device but is backed up over a LAN connection to a server with direct access
to backup devices

The HP EBS Compatibility Matrix provides information for designing data protection solutions, including backup/restore and archiving, that scale from entry-level workgroups
to enterprise-level data centers. It includes support for Direct Attach SCSI (DAS), Direct Attach Fibre (DAF), and Storage Area Network (SAN). It does not imply product availability.
Updates/changes to individual fields within the Matrix will be highlighted in RED. Products highlighted in YELLOW will be removed from the EBS Compatibility Matrix in the next
release. Previous versions of the EBS Compatibility Matrix are available on the web at:
Please consult the ISV / IHV product compatibility guide(s) for additional support details such as product version information, driver details, firmware revisions,
patch levels, etc.
Due to differences in support, it is highly recommended that you verify which servers and OS’s are supported by your HBA or controller by referring to the QuickSp
