Install and configure 3PAR VSS Provider
Prior to installing 3PAR VSS Provider, the following software must be installed on the server:
• Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
• 3PAR InForm CLI
3PAR VSS Provider installer will first install Visual C++ Runtime Libraries. After these libraries are
installed, installer will start with the provider installation and configuration. As part of the
configuration, the installation will prompt for the following InServ Storage System Connection
configuration data (see
Figure 12):
• IP address or FQDN of the 3PAR InServ Storage System.
• User name that will be used by the Provider to connect to the storage system. This user should have
sufficient rights to create snapshots and to export them to the backup host.
• User’s password.
