FibreChannel Switch Guidelines
FollowingareguidelinesforconfiguringFibreChannelswitchestobe
usedwithHPClusteredFileSystem:
•ForallFCswitches,itisbestpracticetoplaceeachHBAportandits
storageportsinaseparatezone.NootherinitiatorHBAportshould
bepresentinthiszone.
•TheFCswitchesmanaged
bytheclustermustbefromthesame
vendor.SwitchesthatwillnotbemanagedbyHPClusteredFile
Systemcanbefromothervendorsonlyifallofthevendorshave
approvedtheconfiguration.
•MultipleFibreChannelswitchesaresupported;however,theymustbe
configuredinamannerthatmeetsthe
followingrequirements:
– Eachclusterservermusthaveaccesstoallofthediskstobeused
bythecluster.
– Eachservermusthaveexactlyonepathtoeachofthedisks.(This
requirementisnotnecessaryifthedisksarebeingmanagedby
third‐partyMPIOsoftwarethatcanhandlemultiplepaths).
