NOTE:
HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux customers: The Device Mapper Multipath is installed and
configured by default on HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux systems. This appendix serves as
reference information for HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux customers. In addition, fc_pcitable
entries are updated with the required parameters
Linux Device Mapper Multipath can be used to provide multipath support for HP X5500 Storage
Gateway for Linux. To use Device Mapper Multipath, you will need to complete the following steps:
• Install the Device Mapper Multipath tools provided with the operating system.
• Configure Device Mapper Multipath.
Install Device Mapper Multipath tools
Install the following Device Mapper Multipath RPMs on each server. The RPMs are provided with your
OS distribution.
For SLES10 SP2:
• device-mapper-devel-1.02.13-6.14 or later
• multipath-tools-0.4.7- 34.38 or later
• device-mapper-1.02.13-6.14 or later
• readline_devel_5.1-24.19 or later
Configure Device Mapper Multipath
Download the HP Device Mapper Multipath Enablement Kit and configure it as described below. (Do
not use the directions provided with the kit.)
