This chapter describes how to set up HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux solutions.

are also included.
• Additional tools installed such as SanSurfer, Iozone, Sysstat, pdsh and Netperf
• HP Device mapper utility
Install the HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux Quick Restore
The Quick Restore DVD is used to restore the system to factory defaults. Keep this DVD in a safe place.
CAUTION:
During a recovery process, this Quick Restore DVD will overwrite the original OS logical drives. All
data on these drives will be erased.
Procedure
1. Connect a keyboard, monitor, and mouse directly to the storage server.
2. Insert the Quick Restore DVD into the drive and allow the machine to boot from the DVD.
The "Quick Restore DVD" option loads the required setup for restoring the factory image. When
the prompt is displayed, “Do you want to restore image? (y/n)”, enter Y to restore the image or
N to cancel it.
3. When processing is complete, the YaST configuration screen is displayed. Follow the instructions
on the screen to perform the initial configuration. For more information about installing or using

Supported operating systems and kernels
HP X5500 Storage Gateway and FS Option for Linux are supported on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server
10 Service Pack 2. The following operating system versions and kernels are supported.
