Supported upgrades
This document provides procedures for upgrading from an HP Clustered G ateway 3.6.0 to H P Clustered
Gateway 3.6.1.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use this HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.1 upgrade procedure for upgrading from HP Clustered
Gateway 3.4.0 to HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.1 or from an HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.0 node which
has failed and requires quick restoration. See the HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.1 upgrade quick restore
document to upgrade in these situations.
Upgradeall serversasquickly as possible
It is impor tant to upgrade all nodes in the cluster within a short time frame. HP does not recommend
running the cluster for an extended period of time with only some of the nodes upgraded to 3.6.1.
Upgrading to 3. 6.1
IMPORTANT:
Before youbegin theupgrade,close theHPCFS Management Consoleand all other open applications
on
the node being upgraded.
NOTE:
Upgrade thenodewiththe highestIPaddress first.
Upgrading node with highest IP
1. Copy CGW361Upgrade.exe to a temporary folder in c:\ (for example: c:\temp folder).
2. Double-click CGW361Upgrade.exe. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the
upgrade process.
3. At the prompt to restart the server, click Finish.
NOTE:
1. Do not disturb or abort the upgrade process after it has started; this will lead to an incompletely
upgraded system.
2. The entire upgrade process should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
4. After the system has restarted, start the M anag em ent Console on the upgraded node (Start ->
Programs -> HP C lustered File System -> HP CFS Management Console.)
5. Click Yes at the prompt, “Do you want to start service?”
The n od e is upgraded to Clustered Gateway 3.6.1.
