Description This document explains how to upgrade to HP Clustered File System 3.6.1 and FS Option for Windows 3.6.1. HP technical support For worldwide technical support information, see the HP support website: http://www.hp.
Upgrade considerations Supported upgrades This document provides procedures for upgrading from an HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.0 to HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.1. IMPORTANT: Do not use this HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.1 upgrade procedure for upgrading from HP Clustered Gateway 3.4.0 to HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.1 or from an HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.0 node which has failed and requires quick restoration. See the HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.1 upgrade quick restore document to upgrade in these situations.
NOTE: The upgrade log files—360_unistall.log and 361_install.log—can be viewed at C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Clustered File System\conf\debug. Upgrading subsequent nodes After upgrading the node with the highest IP, upgrade the next highest IP node to HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.1 by following steps 1 – 5 above. Post-upgrade steps Performance dashboard The HP Clustered File System 3.6.1 has an additional utility, Performance Dashboard, that gets installed during the upgrade.
Upgrade filesystems for 8.3 SFN support, if needed By default, PSFS filesystems do not support the creation of 8.3 short file names (SFN) and name tunneling. Filesystems should be upgraded only if you have a specific need for these features, as the use of 8.3 files causes degradation in filesystem performance. The degradation is proportional to the number of 8.3 files created. If 8.3 SFN support is later disabled but 8.3 filenames exist, the performance degradation will continue.
