Upgrade procedure

Supported Upgrades

This guide provides procedures for upgrading from:

• HP Clustered Gateway 3.4.0 (32-bit) Windows to HP Clustered

Gateway 3.6.1 (64-bit) for Windows

• HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.0 (64-bit) Windows to HP Clustered

Gateway 3.6.1 (64-bit) for Windows

In both cases, use the CGW 3.6.1 v1 QR DVD.

NOTE: Alternatively, for a working in site CGW 3.6.0 cluster, you can use

the software-only 'Upgrade Kit' to upgrade to CGW 3.6.1.

Upgrade Considerations

Several product changes in HP Clustered File System 3.6.1 affect the

upgrade procedure. Be sure to review the following information before

starting the upgrade.

Upgrade All Servers As Quickly As Possible

It is important to upgrade all nodes in the cluster within a short time

frame. HP does not recommend running the cluster for an extended

period of time with only some of the nodes upgraded to 3.6.1. If the

cluster is only partially upgraded, alerts raised by nodes running 3.6.1

will be improperly logged by nodes running 3.4.
