HP StorageWorks Clustered Gateway (server/software bundle) 3.6.1 Windows Storage Server Edition upgrade guide (AG515-96012, September 2008)

Chapter 2: Upgrade procedure 17
3. Create a new filesystem on the volume. On the HP CFS Management
Console, select Cluster > Add > Add Filesystem. Select the re-created
volume on the Create Filesystems window and set the appropriate
filesystem options.
To create the filesystem from the command line, use either the mx fs
create command or the psfsformat command. See the HP Clustered
FileSystem Administration Guide for details about these commands.
4. Restore the filesystem data to the new dynamic volume.
Remove Custom Setting for GcTrimLevel
In previous releases of HP Clustered File System, there have been
recommendations to add a registry setting for GcTrimLevel to restrict the
amount of Windows pool memory consumed by the product. HP
Clustered File System 3.6.1 includes a new tunable GcTrimMax that caps
the maximum number of FCBs that the product will cache (the default is
10,000). With the new settings, the defaults should be suitable for all but
the most unusual workloads. HP advises customers to remove any
custom setting of GcTrimLevel after upgrading to HP Clustered File
System 3.6.1.
Re-create Notifiers
If you previously used notifier scripts, you will need to re-create the
notifiers. HP Clustered File System 3.6 provides three event notifier
services:
SNMP Notifier Service—This service sends SNMP notifications, or
traps, to the configured SNMP targets when the selected events occur.
Email Notifier Service—This service sends email to specified
addresses when the selected events occur.
Script Notifier Service—This service allows you to specify a script
that will be triggered when selected events occur. This method works
in the same way as the notifiers provided with previous HP Clustered
File System releases; however, you can specify only one notifier script.
For information about configuring the notifier services, see "Configure
Notifiers and View Events" in the HP StorageWorks Clustered File
System Administration Guide.
