Chapter 2: Upgrade procedure 8
Upgrading to 3.6.0
Upgrading the Node with Highest IP
1. Boot using the HP Clustered Gateway 3.6.0 WSS x64 upgrade DVD
and Quick Restore (QR) the machine.
NOTE: During the QR process, if an error message "Partitionand
Format:CreatePartition:failed to create partition…" appears,
restart the QR process.
2. After the quick restore is complete:
a. Log in to the machine with the login name Administrator and
password hpinvent. Accept the 3.6.0 End User License
Agreement.
b. Make the network changes (restore the network and hostname
settings). Restore any other changes to settings such as teaming,
TCP/IP parameters, and so on. If the machine was in a domain
before the upgrade, rejoin it to the domain.
3. If you are using multi-pathing software, install it according to product
documentation.
4. Restore the contents of the \conf directory. This directory was backed
up before starting the upgrade process (see “Back Up the Cluster
Configuration” on page 6).
NOTE: When prompted, "Do you want to replace the existing files?,"
click Yes to all.
5. Restore any Fibre Channel connections to the node.
6. Start the Management Console. When prompted "The HP CFS
Management console service is configured but might not be started.
Would you like to start it now?," click Yes. This will start HPCFS 3.6.0
service on the node.
