HP StorageWorks Clustered File System (software-only) 3.6.1 Windows Storage Server Edition upgrade guide (T4422 - 96001, August 2008)

Chapter 5: Post-Upgrade Steps 38
New Features in HP Clustered File System
See the HP StorageWorks Clustered File System Administration Guide for
more information about configuring and using these features.
Performance Monitor Service. This service includes two components:
the Performance Dashboard and the MxS Perfmon extension. The
Performance Dashboard provides server and cluster performance data
over a period of time (the last hour, day, week, month, or year).
Filesystem data is provided for individual PSFS filesystems and can
be aggregated for all PSFS filesystems. The MxS Perfmon extension
extends the native Windows Performance tool by adding Performance
Objects and counters for HP Clustered File System.
Support for Alternate Data Streams (ADS) in the PSFS filesystem.
Pre-3.6.1 filesystems must be upgraded to use this feature. See
“Upgrade Filesystems for Alternate Data Streams (ADS)” on page 35.
It is a requirement to upgrade pre-3.6.1 filesystems used with HP
PolyServe Software for Microsoft SQL Server.
Support for 8.3 Short File Names (SFN) and name tunneling. By
default, support for this feature is disabled. See “Upgrade Filesystems
for 8.3 SFN Support If Needed” on page 35.
Event notifiers. The event notifier services can be configured to send
an SNMP trap, send email, or run a script when specific HP Clustered
File System events occur.
HP Clustered File System SNMP service. This service provides an
SNMP extension agent and MIBs for retrieval of all cluster-wide state
and status information.
Role-Based Security. By default, the machine local Administrators
group has full cluster rights and can perform all HP Clustered File
System operations. You can use the Role-Based Security feature to
create roles that allow or deny other users and groups the ability to
perform specific cluster operations.
