Set the Array to Fabric Mode
HPClusteredFileSystemrequiresthatstoragearraysbeconfiguredin
fabricmode.YoucancheckthemodesettingontheEasyStorageSetup
window.ForeachHABusedforthecluster,theLoopIDmustbesetto
FPort.Ifyouneedtochangethemode,clicktheHAB,select
theFPort
setting,andpressEnter.
Add a New Server to a Cluster
Usethefollowingproceduretoaddanewservertoanexistingcluster.
NOTE: Iftheserverwaspreviouslyused inadifferentHPX5500Storage
GatewayforWindowscluster,removethecontentsofthe
directoryC:\ProgramFiles\HewlettPackard\HPClusteredFile
System\conf(ifHPCFS3.2.1or3.4.xisinstalled),orofthe
directory%SystemDrive%\ProgramFiles\HPCFS\Matrix
Server\conf
(forHPClusteredFileSystem2.7.2,)beforeyou
performthefollowingprocedure.
1. EnsurethattheiLOnetworkconfigurationaswellasausername
andpasswordaresetontheiLOcard.ThisassumesiLObased
fencingisbeingusedandnotfabricbasedfencing.Thismayrequirea
rebootofthe
server.
2. InstallMPIOSoftware(Optional).IfMPIOsoftwareisbeingusedon
theotherclusternodes,ensurethatthesamesoftwareisinstalledand
configuredonthenewnodebeforeattachingthenodetotheSAN.
3. ChecktheDNShostname.EnsurethattheDNShostnameissetup
properlyon
thenewserver.See“1.SetUptheDNSHostname”on
page12.
4. Importtheexistingclusterconfiguration.Youcanimportthe
configurationfromanyserverinthecluster.Completethesesteps:
a. Onthenewserver,selectStart>Programs>HPClusteredFile
System>ManagementConsole.OntheConnection
Parameters
windowthatopensnext,typetheIPaddressoftheserver.Then
typeadminforboththeuserandthepasswordandclick
Configure.
