HP StorageWorks Clustered File System 3.6.0 Windows Storage Server Edition (server/software bundle) Release Notes (403107-008, February 2008)
Management Console does not display filesy stems created when HP Clustered
Gateway was not running [3793]
If the H P Clustered Gateway service is not running while a PSFS filesystem is created with the psfsformat -f
command, the filesystem does not display on the HP Management Console.
Workaround—Start the HP Clustered Gateway ser vice before cre ating the filesystem.
Filesystem mounts may disappear temporarily while a node is booting [4301]
While a node in the cluster is booting, the HP Management Console ca n show filesystem mounts
disappearing and then re appearing on other nodes. This is an artifact of the cluster responding to a
new node joining the cluster and causes no harm.
SNMP dies on QLogic SANbox2 FC switches [5519]
In a cluster
with a QLogic SANbox2 FibreChannel switch, SNMP can die periodically. When this occurs,
servers can
not
be fenced, and servers that have already been fenced cannot unfence themselves.
To recover, go to Admin mode on the switch and then run the hotreset command:
admin start
admin> hotr
eset
The hotreset command resets the switch. (Before the switch is reset, all running applications save their
FibreChannel state. That information is then used by the applications when the switch com es back up.)
If the cluster does not recover on its own after the switch is reset, you may need to reboot the affected
servers or
restart HP Clustered Gatewa y on them.
Legato NetWorker volume shadow copy not supported [5807]
HP Clustered Gateway does not currently support the ma nner in which Legato NetWorker 7.1.1 uses
volume shadow c opies. HP recommends that you configure NetWorkersothatitdoesnot useshadow
copies. One waytodothis istochoose Options > Save Options in the N etWorker client, and then
type VSS:*=off in the options box.
Reinsta
lling HP
Clustered G ateway with an evaluation license requires new
configur
ation [ 5838 ]
An HP Clu
stered Gateway configuration created with an evaluation license cannot be used if HP
Clustered Gateway is reinstalledwithanevaluationlicense. Whenuninstalling HP ClusteredGateway,
do not check the “Ke ep the existing Clustered Gateway confi guration” option. This option prohibits the
use of the evaluation license provided with the HP Clustered Gateway distribution.
Built-in NT backup soft ware fails on PSFS volumes when volume shadow copy is
enabled [5897]
Volume shadow copy is enabled by default in the built-in NT backup software provid ed with Windows
2003. The PSFS filesystem does not support volume shadow copies. If you want to use the N T backup
software on a PSFS volume, disable volume shadow copy.
Server’s IP address may change if assigned with DHCP [6364]
When
DHCP or DHCP reservations are used to assign IP addresses to servers, the IP address can change
when the server is rebooted. The D H CP server may be slow to respond to the reboot, resulting in the
server temporarily using a random automatic IP ad dress until the DHCP address is acquired. While the
