Roles can allow users to run scripts as LocalSystem [16442]
A role granting cre ate or m odify rights for monitor or notific a tion scripts allows the user to run the scripts
as LocalSystem, effectively allowing the user to be a machine local administrator. If security is a concern,
ensure that only machine local administrators are allowed to create or modify event notification settings
and m onitors. (Monitors are included in the application and file-serving resources.)
Clustered
File System is not compatible with Microsoft Forefront Client Security
product [16858]
Using the Forefront Client Security product on a Clustered File System node causes the node to b ugcheck
in the
PSFS filesystem. This issue occurs be cause of an inc ompatibility between the Clustered File
System PSFS filesystem and the Forefront Client Security product. We have repor ted this incompatibility
to
Micro
soft and are working to fixit.
Uninstalling the Microsoft SNMP service causes Clustered File System SNMP
agent to fail [17209]
If the Microsoft SNMP service is uninstalled, the Clustered File System SNMP extension agent will fail to
send traps. This problem occurs be cause registry entries for the Clustered File System SNMP extension
agent are removed when the Microsoft SNMP service is uninstalled. Reinstalling the Microsoft SNMP
service does not restore the registry entries for the Clustered File System SNMP extension agent.
Workaround—The preferred wor karound is to uninstall Clustered File System (saving the configuration)
and then reinstall it. If this is not possible, open Windows Explorer and go to \bin in the Clustered File
System installation directory, double-click on mxsnmp_add.reg, and then reboot.
Cluster description cannot be reset when Clustered File System is not running
[176

The
cluster description is set when you initially confi gure the cluster. If you need to reset the description at
a
later time, Clustered File System must be running while you m a ke the change.
