HP StorageWorks Clustered File System 3.6.0 Windows Storage Server Edition (server/software bundle) Release Notes (403107-008, February 2008)

Add or Remov e Pro
grams appears to hang [12924]
On star tup, Add
or Remove Programs enumerates the contents of all top-level directories of mounted
volumes. When t
he
root or top-level directories on PSFS lesystems contain large numbers of les, Add or
Remove Programs appears to hang during this step.
Workaround—Do not overpopulate the root directory and the top-level directories of PSFS lesystems
with large numbers of les. Instead, place the les in subdirectories.
Filesystem is not recreated with previous options [13107]
The Recreate Filesystem window on the HP Clustered Filesystem Management Console contains an Options
button. If you recreate a lesystem and do not open the Options d ialog, the lesystem will be recreated
with the default o ptions instead of the options that were set when the lesystem was originally created.
Workaround—When you recreate a lesystem, open and then close the Options dialog before clicking
OK on the
Recreate Filesystem Window. The lesystem will then be recreated with its original options.
Shadow copy option is available for s napclones [13275]
When you create a snapclone on the Create Snapshot window, the option to "Sha re as Shadow Copy
of
Shared F
older"
is available; however, a shadow copy cannot be created from a snapclone and
the
option is unused.
mx quota --defaultQ uotaType command is case-sensitive [13284]
Theargumentfor themxquota --defaultQuotaTypecommand must be specied in lower-case letters. A
Java exception occurs if upper-case letters are used.
Synchron
ized bookma rks do not work with secondary interface [13411]
If y ou are unable to connect to the cluster using the primary network interfaces on your servers because of
the
network infrastructure or a rewall, the "Synchronize Server Bookmarks Automatically" option should
be
disab
led. If it is not disabled, bookmarks that contain addresses on a secondary interface will be
replaced with the unreachable primary interface.
The Java client VM crashes when mx commands are run from a monitor script
[1358 7]
Although not a x for this issue, placing a .matrixrc le in the following folder may prevent the crash.
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\
mx fs destroy partially destroys snapshots [13996]
Do not
use the mx fs destroy command to remove a snapshot. If you attempt to delete a snapshot with the
mx
fs destroy command, the snapshot lesystem will be removed but the snapshot will remain on the
array. You will then need to m a nually remove the snapshot LUNs from the array. (After removing the
LUN s, you will see disk import errors on the console for the LUNs that were removed.)
If yo
u
need to delete a snapshot, either use the mx snapshot d estroy command or locate the snapshot
on the
HP CFS Management Console, right-click, and select Delete.
lanman IR PStackSize Is Too Small [14219]
After i nstalling applications that use the IRP stack (such as some AntiVirus software), you may see error
messages indicating that the value of the lanman IRPStackSize parameter needs to be increased. This
problem has also been seen when upgrading HP Clustered File System from a release earlier than 3.4.
(HP Clustered File System uses an additional IRP stack in release 3.4 and later.)
