Configuration Information
Network Configuration Requirements
Configure networks used with HP Clustered File System as follows:
• Each network interface card (NIC) must be on a separate physical
network. For example, you could use either a separate Ethernet switch
for each network or a managed switch that allows network traffic to
be isolated.
• Each NIC must be on a separate logical IP network.
• Network interfaces should be multicast-capable. If an interface does
not provide this capability, contact HP Technical Support for
assistance.
• 802.3x Ethernet flow control cannot be used. Be sure to check the
driver settings for your NICs to ensure that this feature is disabled.
• The network topology should be symmetrical; each server in the
cluster should be connected to the same set of networks.
• The network adapter to which the server’s IP address is bound must
appear first on the Adapter and Bindings list on the Network and
Dial-up Connections window. (Right-click My Network Places and
select Properties to display the window. Then select Advanced >
Advanced Settings to see the Adapter and Bindings tab.)
