HP StorageWorks Clustered File System 3.2.1 Windows Storage Server Edition Administration Guide (February 2006)

Chapter 10: Configure Virtual Hosts 97
Re-Host Virtual Hosts
You can use the Applications tab to modify the configuration of a virtual
host. For example, you might want to change the primary for the virtual
host. To re-host a virtual host, right click in a cell for that virtual host and
then select Re-Host. You will then see a message warning that this action
will cause the clients of the application to lose connection. When you
continue, the Custom Virtual Host Re-Host window appears.
You can now make the necessary changes to the virtual host.
Virtual Hosts and Failover
When you create a virtual host, you specify a list of network interfaces on
which the virtual host can be located. The interfaces are placed in order:
primary, backup #1, backup #2, and so on. The ClusterPulse process
considers the “health” of the servers providing those interfaces when
determining where to place a virtual host.
