Rebuilding the SLES9 Kernel
1. Install the HP Clustered File System Support RPM
The HP Clustered File System Support RPM contains HP Clustered File
System kernel patches and support files for each kernel supported in the
release. Installing the Support RPM is required if you will be using CFS-
Linux or you want the HP kernel patch.
To install the Support RPM, mount the HP Clustered File System CD or
go to the location where you downloaded the software and then run the
following command.
# rpm -i pmxs-sles9-support-3.1.0-<xxxx>.x86_64.rpm
The installation creates a subdirectory in /usr/src/hpcfs for each kernel
provided in the RPM. Each kernel subdirectory contains the following:
•A configs subdirectory containing the sample configuration files for
that kernel.
•A patches subdirectory containing any HP kernel patches for that
kernel. These patches are automatically applied when the RPM is
installed. (See the HP EFS Clustered Gateway Release Notes for
information about the HP kernel patches provided with this release.)
2. Install the CFS-Linux Patches RPM
Install the kernel patches RPM provided with that product. Go to the
location where you downloaded the software and then run the following
command:
