Chapter 3: Rolling Upgrade Procedure 8
HP Clustered File System 3.1.0
Complete the following steps to upgrade to HP Clustered File System
3.1.1p1.
NOTE: Upgrade the server with the highest IP address first. Then
continue to upgrade the servers in descending order of IP address,
with the lowest numbered server being upgraded last.
1. Disable the server to cause any active Virtual NFS Services to migrate
to another server. (Right-click on the server and select Disable).
2. Back up the HP Clustered File System configuration on the node being
upgraded as described under “Back Up the Existing Cluster” on page
2.
3. Stop HP Clustered File System on the server:
# /etc/init.d/pmxs stop
4. Remove any HP Clustered File System patches:
# rpm -e mxfs-fastpatch
5. Uninstall the following HP Clustered File System packages from the
server. Run the following commands. (You may see an error message
stating that a failure occurred. You can ignore this message; the
uninstall was successful.)
# rpm -e mxfs
# rpm -e mxfs-sles9-support
# rpm -e mxfs-patches
6. Uninstall the HP Clustered File System Support RPM:
# rpm -e pmxs-sles9-support
7. Uninstall any HP Clustered File System patches installed on the
server:
# rpm -e pmxs-patch
8. Uninstall HP Clustered File System 3.1.0 from the server. This step
does not remove your existing cluster configuration or log files. The
cluster software must be uninstalled from a location outside of the
cluster directory structure (/opt/hpcfs).
