HP StorageWorks Clustered File System 3.1.1 for Linux Installation Guide (May 2006)

Chapter 4: Install HP Clustered File System 19
# rpm -i <mountpoint>/<os>/<wordsize>/pmxs-3.1.1-
<xxxx>.<arch>.rpm
Also install the Management Console and mx utility:
# rpm -i <mountpoint>/<os>/<wordsize>/mxconsole-3.1.0-
<xxxx>.i386.rpm
8. Install the Quota Tools RPM (Optional)
The quota tools RPM includes several Linux quota commands that have
been modified to work on PSFS filesystems. You can use the modified
commands in place of the commands provided with the Linux
distribution. If you want to use the modified commands, install the quota
tools RPM on each server that will be in the cluster.
# rpm -i <mountpoint>/<os>/<wordsize>/pmxs-quota-tools-
3.1.1-<xxxx>.i386.rpm
9. Specify an HBA Driver If Necessary
Clustered File System includes several versions of the HBA drivers for
the supported FibreChannel host bus adapters. For each host bus
adapter, Clustered File System designates one of these versions as the
default. If your system configuration requires a different driver version
(either a version included with Clustered File System or a version from
another source), you can install that driver version in place of the
Clustered File System default version.
For more information, see the appendix D HBA Driver Procedures. It is
very important that the processes outlined in this appendix are followed.
The “normal” way of installing HBA drivers on Linux is not used. Do not
start Clustered File System after installing the driver.
10. Verify the SAN Configuration
This step verifies that the SAN devices are configured appropriately and
can be viewed from the servers that will be in the cluster. You will need to
perform this step on each server.
To begin, load the drivers that were provided with Clustered File System
or that you have installed:
# /etc/init.d/pmxs load
