HP StorageWorks Clustered File System 3.1.1 for Linux Installation Guide (May 2006)

Chapter 3: Configuration Best Practices 11
EVA Snapshots - SSSU Tool
HP Clustered Gateway directly integrates with HP Snapshots (Business
Copy). The HP Clustered File System Installation guide discusses this in
chapter 3. You must have the EVA management tool ‘sssu’ installed to use
this feature.
To locate this utility, go to www.hp.com, select Software & Driver
Downloads, then search for “HP StorageWorks Command View EVA
Software.” Choose the latest media kit version, and select the correct
version for your OS. Both the 4.1 and 5.0 (most recent when this
document was written) versions have been tested. The utility is typically
installed as /opt/hp/sssu/sssu. The following conditions must also be true
(this may require manual intervention to satisfy these requirements):
It must have a link (soft or hard) to the executable from /usr/sbin/sssu.
Permissions must be set to 755 (execute by all users).
•The /opt/hp/sssu directory must be readable by all users.
PDSH
Being able to execute Linux commands on multiple nodes simultaneously
is a very useful capability. A number of parallel shells are available. HP
has found the pdsh shell from Lawrence Livermore to be an effective tool.

NetPerf
There are numerous performance tools available on Linux. HP has found
the NetPerf tool to be a very valuable tool for performance tuning. The
