HP Clustered File Sy
stem 3.6.0 includes the following new features.
Security features
:
Single sign-on. HP Clustered File System now uses AD single sign-on semantics
to
authorize users attempting to acc ess the cluster.
Role-Based Secur
ity Control. You can create roles, dene the operations that
are allowed or denied for each role, and add specic user or group a ccounts
to the
roles.
Auditing of all l
ogin attempts and user-initiated actions that change the cluster
conguration.
Availability f
eatures:
Dynamic volume recovery.
Online membership partition repair and replacement. Membership partitions can
now be added, r
epaired, or replaced while H P Clustered File System is running.
Cluster manag
ement features:
New event viewer. The event viewer shows the HP Clustere d File System event
messages currently in the Windows event log. You can lter the output to limit
the
messages that appear, and you can display details about specic messages.
New event no
tier services. The event notier services can b e congured to send
an
SNMP tra
p, to send email, or to run a script when specic HP Clustered
File System events occur.
New HP Clustered File System SNMP service. This service provides an SNMP
extensio
n
agent and MIBs for retrieval of all cluster-wide state and status
informat
ion.
HP Manage ment Console features:
New Installed Software viewer that lists all of the H P software currently installed
on the
sy
stem.
Progress task bar that displays progress indications when you initiate a task on
the
console.
Implementation changes in 3.6.0
The following implementation changes have been made in this release:
Certain cluster conguration information is now stored in the new mxds datastore
on the
membership partitions. The datastore is automatically backed up on a
daily basis. However, you may want to back up the datastore manually after
making conguration changes to ensure that you always have an up-to-date
backup
The minimum size for membership pa r titions has been incre ased to 1 GB.
