INTRODUCTION
Hardware and Software Dependencies
The following table summarizes the hardware, software, and operating system
requirements for the HP EFS WAN Accelerator CLI.
Ethernet Network Compatibility
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator supports the following types of Ethernet networks:
Fast Ethernet (IEEE 802.3u 100 BaseTX)
Gigabit Ethernet over Copper and Fiber (IEEE 802.3ab 1000 Base-T)
The primary port in the HP EFS WAN Accelerator is 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-sensing.
In-path HP EFS WAN Accelerator ports are Fast Ethernet, auto-sensing or Gigabit
Ethernet (depending on your order).
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator with a Gigabit Ethernet card supports Jumbo Frames
on in-path and primary ports.
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator supports VLAN 802.1q. It does not support the Cisco
InterSwitch Link (ISL) protocol.
Antivirus Compatibility
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator has been tested with the following antivirus software
with no impact on performance:
Network Associates (McAfee) VirusScan 7.0.0 Enterprise on the server
Network Associates (McAfee) VirusScan 7.1.0 Enterprise on the server
Network Associates (McAfee) VirusScan 7.1.0 Enterprise on the client
Symantec (Norton) AntiVirus Corporate Edition 8.1 on the server

Secure Shell (ssh). Free ssh clients include
PuTTY for Windows computers, OpenSSH for
many Unix and Unix-like operating systems,
and Cygwin.
