Recovering sequence templates
Sequence templates with payload (except for Update Agent templates) will not work after upgrading to
HPDM 4.5. Some of them have been removed, and in others, the logic of the whole sequence might have
become invalid. You will need to rebuild the whole sequence. However, good preparation before
upgrading could help you save time on rebuilding them.
First, you can export the sequence templates with payload so that you can find the payload files easier.
Also, you can take a note or save some screenshots in the template editor to remember the logic in your
sequence. Finally, refer to new templates you recovered using prior steps to avoid adding payload again
when rebuilding the sequence.
Recovering rules
Rules with templates that need payload (except for Update Agent templates) will not work after upgrading
to HPDM 4.5. However, the rules were not removed to save you from having to redefine filters and
schedules.
All you need to do to recover a rule is to assign a new template to it. However, the template for the rule
might have been removed during the upgrade. Please take notes before the upgrade to make sure you can
recover rules with proper new templates.
