Disconnecting from the network and the fabric
To disconnect from the network and fabric:
1. Shut down the DC04 SAN Director using the sysShutdown command.
rsl8-st03-dcx-1:admin> sysshutdown
This command will shutdown the operating systems on your switch.
You are required to power-cycle the switch in order to restore operation.
Are you sure you want to shutdown the switch [y/n]?y
HA is disabled

CAUTION: Turn off the power switches and disconnect the power cords.
2. Power off the chassis by setting the AC power switches to 0. (Verify that the power supply
Status LED turns off.)
3. Remove the power cords from the power supplies and the power outlets.
4. Label the cables connected to all blades and record the connections in (page 95).
5. Remove the chassis door.
6. Disconnect the cables from the port blades and set them aside. The SFP or XFP transceivers
can be left in the port blades or they can be removed.
7. Disconnect all cables from the CP8 and CR4S-8 blades.
8. Disconnect any ICL cables.
Removing components from the chassis
CAUTION: Wear a grounded ESD strap when handling DC04 SAN Director components and
port blades. The Director chassis provides a grounding connection above the power connectors.
Also, store ESD-sensitive components in antistatic packaging.
Use the following procedures to remove components from the chassis:
1. Remove the cable management fingers (see Removing a cable management finger
assembly (page 66)).
2. Remove the port and application blades or filler panels (see Removing a blade (page 67)).
3. Remove the core switch blades (CR4S-8) (see Removing a core switch blade (page 76)).
4. Remove the control processor blades (CP8) (see Removing a control processor blade (CP8)).
5. Remove the power supplies or filler panels (see Removing a power supply (page 77)).
6. Remove the blower assemblies (see Removing a blower assembly (page 78)).
7. Remove the WWN bezel (logo plate) and WWN cards (see Removing the WWN bezel (logo
plate) and WWN card (page 81)).
