8. Enter the firmwareDownloadStatus command to verify that the firmware has been updated.
9. Enter the haEnable command to re-enable HA on the active CP blade.
10. Enter the reboot command.
11. Verify that the reboot is complete and the CP blades have achieved failover redundancy:
a. Wait until the status LEDs on both CP blades are not lit.
b. Enter the haShow command and verify that the command output includes HA Enabled
Heartbeat Up. If not, re-enter the command until you have verified that redundancy is
achieved.
12. Enter the firmwareShow command to verify that the firmware version has been updated.
13. Pack the faulty CP blade in the packaging provided with the new CP blade, and contact HP
for the procedure for returning the faulty blade.
14. Replace the chassis door. See Installing the chassis door (page 65).
Replacing a core switch blade (CR4S-8)
This section describes how to remove and replace a core switch blade. The DC04 SAN Director
has two core switch blades: one in slot 3 and one in slot 6.
The replacement procedure for the core switch blade takes approximately 30 minutes. The following
items are required for the core switch blade replacement:
• ESD grounding strap
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
• Replacement DC04 SAN Director core switch blade (CR4S-8)
Determining whether or not to replace a core switch blade
The following events might indicate that a core switch blade is faulty:
• The status LED on the core switch blade is lit amber, or the power LED is not lit.
• The slotShow command does not show that the core switch blade is enabled.
• The haShow command indicates an error.
• Any of the following messages is displayed in the error log:
