orientation of the blades in the DC04 SAN Director, the finger assemblies are attached to the
uprights of the mounting rack.
The replacement procedure for the vertical cable management fingers takes less than five minutes.
You will need a #1 Phillips screwdriver.
Removing a cable management finger assembly
CAUTION: Wear a grounded ESD strap when handling DC04 SAN Director components. The
DC04 SAN Director chassis provides a grounding connection above the power connectors. Also,
store ESD-sensitive components in antistatic packaging.
To remove the cable management comb:
1. Remove the chassis door. See Removing the chassis door (page 65).
2. Rearrange the cables around one of the cable management finger assemblies.
3. Unscrew and save the three screws holding the finger assembly to the rack upright (see
Figure 35 (page 66)). Support the assembly to prevent it from falling.
4. Remove the cable management finger assembly.
5. If necessary, repeat step 1 through step 3 for the other finger assembly.
Installing a cable management finger assembly
To install a cable management finger assembly (see Figure 35 (page 66)):
1. Position and tighten the three screws to secure the vertical cable management finger assembly
to the rack upright.
2. Arrange the cables along the cable management finger assembly.
3. If necessary, repeat step 1 and step 2 for the other cable management assembly.

Replacing DC04 SAN Director port and application blades
This section describes how to remove and replace a DC04 SAN Director port or application blade.
The replacement procedure for each blade takes less than ten minutes. The following items are
required:
ESD grounding strap
Workstation computer
Replacement DC04 SAN Director blade or filler panel
Phillips screwdriver
