NOTE: For Fabric OS 6.4.0 and later, three DCX chassis can be supported in a triangular ICL
configuration, as long as the third chassis is housed in an immediate adjacent rack so that the
cables reach the ICL ports.
The ICL cables and the ICL connectors (see Figure 15 (page 33)) are color-coded and labeled for
ease of installation.
Connect the ICL cables using one of the configurations shown in Figure 16 (page 34) through
Figure 19 (page 37).
NOTE: Because the blades in the DC04 SAN Director are installed horizontally, the usual
top-to-bottom orientation becomes a left-to-right orientation.
1. Connect the cables from the left (top) connectors (ICL 1) of the CR4S-8 blades in the first chassis
to the right (bottom) connectors (ICL 0) of the CR4S-8 blades in the second chassis.
2. Similarly, connect the cables from the right (bottom) connectors (ICL 0) of the CR4S-8 blades
in the first chassis to the left (top) connectors (ICL 1) of the CR4S-8 blades in the second chassis.
IMPORTANT: The cables can cross between the slot 3 CR4S-8 blade on the first chassis and
the slot 6 CR4S-8 blade on the second chassis as long as the left-to-right (top-to-bottom) rule
is followed.
