The CP8 blade manages all other blades in the DC04 SAN
Director. There are two CP8 blades for redundancy. This CP

Each core switch blade connects to 192 backplane ports.
Core switch blades have additional front port connectivity
via ICL cables to connect multiple chassis and backplane
connections. This core switch blade is compatible only with
the DC04 SAN Director.
This core blade allows you to upgrade your HP DC04 SAN
Director Switch chassis to a 16 Gb capable DCX8510
platform (HP SN8000B 4-slot SAN Director).

16 Gb Core Processor Blade
A 16-port Director blade supporting 1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-Gb/s
port speeds. This Director blade is compatible with the 4/256
FC8-1616-port 8-Gb/s Director blade
SAN Director, the DC SAN Director Backbone, and the DC04
SAN Director.
A 32-port Director blade supporting 1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-Gb/s
port speeds. This Director blade is compatible with the 4/256
FC8-3232-port 8-Gb/s Director blade
SAN Director, the DC SAN Backbone Director, and the DC04
SAN Director.
A 48-port Director blade supporting 1-, 2-, 4-, and 8-Gb/s
port speeds. This Director blade is compatible with the 4/256
FC8-4848-port 8-Gb/s Director blade
SAN Director, the DC SAN Backbone Director, and the DC04
SAN Director.
A 64-port Director blade supporting 2, 4 and 8-Gb/s port
speeds. This Director blade is compatible with the DC04 SAN
FC8-6464-port 8-Gb/s Director blade
Director, DC SAN Backbone Director, SN8000B 4-Slot SAN
Director, and SN8000B 8-Slot SAN Backbone Director.
NOTE: This blade cannot be in the same chassis with an
FCOE10-24 blade.
A 6-port Director blade supporting 10-Gb/s port speeds. The
blade provides 10-Gb/x ISLs. This Director blade is

compatible with the 4/256 SAN Director, the DC SAN
Backbone Director, and the DC04 SAN Director.
The FR4–18i blade intergrates 16 physical FC SFP ports
supporting FCR Services and two physical GbE SFP ports
FR4-18iB-series MP Router Blade (FC router
blade)
supporting FCIP. The two physical GbE ports can support up
to 16 virtual E_Ports. This Director blade is compatible with
the 4/256 SAN Director, the DC SAN Backbone Director,
and the DC04 SAN Director.
The FS8-18 blade enables data cryptographic
(encryption/decryption) and data-compression capabilities.
FS8-18HP DC Switch Encryption FC blade
It has 16 FC optical SFP ports. This blade requires the use of
a 220 VAC power supply in the DC04 SAN Director. This
Director blade is compatible with the DC04 SAN Director,
DC SAN Backbone Director, SN8000B 4-Slot SAN Director,
and SN8000B 8-Slot SAN Backbone Director.
