11. FC8-16, FC8-32, FC8-48, FC8-64, FS8-18, FX8-24, FX8-24E, FCOE10-24 blades: Open the
ejectors. Remove the blade from the chassis using the ejectors.
FC10-6 and FR4-18i blades: Use the Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two thumb screws
from the top and bottom ejectors on the blade. Open both ejectors simultaneously to
approximately 45 degrees and remove the blade from the chassis.
12. If the blade is not being replaced by another blade, install a filler panel.

Installing a Director blade
Slots are numbered from 1 through 12, from left to right when facing the port side of the DC SAN
Director. Director blades can be installed in slots 1 through 4 and 9 through 12.
CAUTION: Wear a grounded ESD strap when handling a Director blade. Use the grounding
connections above the power connectors on the chassis.
1. Orient the blade so that the ports are at the front of the chassis and the flat side of the blade
is on the left. See Figure 34 (page 67).
2. FC10-6 and FR4-18i blades: Open the ejectors to approximately 45 degrees, align the flat
side of the blade inside the upper and lower rail guides in the slot, and slide the blade into
the slot, with slight pressure to the left, until it is firmly seated.
FC8-16, FC8-32, FC8-48, FC8-64, FS8-18, FX8-24, FX8-24E, FCOE10-24 blades: Adjust the
ejectors to the open position, align the flat side of the blade inside the upper and lower rail
guides in the slot, and slide the blade into the slot until it is firmly seated. See Figure 34 (page
67).
