NOTE: If the FR4-18i, FC10-6, FC8-48, FC8-64, FS8-18, FX8-24, FX8-24E, or FCOE-1024 blade
is used, 220 VAC is required.
DC SAN Director
The power subsystem is a redundant +48 VDC power distribution system with a provision for up
to four 1,000 W, 48 VDC bulk power supplies. Four bulk power supplies produce the intermediate
distribution voltage in the distributed power system.
The power specifications in Table 24 (page 105) are calculated for fully loaded systems with four
power supplies. A fully loaded system has eight FC8-48 port blades, two CP8 blades, two CR8
blades, and three blower assemblies.

A fully loaded switch requires a maximum of 750 VA. This results in a main
current of 3.2 A at 240 VAC line voltage or 3.6 A at 208 VAC line voltage.
The rated AC input range is 180 to 264 VAC or 110 to 120 VAC.

The supply outputs remain within specified regulation for a minimum of 20
msec after the AC mains are disconnected.
Ride through
The DC SAN Director power supply self-protects from any input voltage, static
or dynamic, from zero volts to its operating ranges. It recovers to normal
operation upon returning to its operating range.
