Notes

The client that you intend to use as a backup host should not have the VMware

Consolidated Backup (VCB) software installed.

If you already have an older version of the Virtual Environment Integration

component installed in your environment, upgrade the component on all backup hosts. For

details, see Upgrading the Virtual Environment Integration component.

Installing the Virtual Environment Integration component

1. Connect to any client with the updated Data Protector User Interface component.

2. Open the Data Protector GUI and, in the Context List, select Clients.

3. Add the Data Protector Virtual Environment Integration component to a backup

host:

If the backup host is not part of the Data Protector cell, use the Data Protector Add Clients

functionality.

If the backup host is already part of the Data Protector cell, use the Data Protector Add

Components functionality.

At the end, the message Session completed successfully is displayed.
