Data Protector backup types

The following Data Protector backup types are available for VMware with this integration:

Full. This is a standard Data Protector full backup to disk and/or tape.

Incremental. This backs up the changes since the last backup of any type; full, incremental or

differential.

Differential. This backs up the changes since the last full backup. It is equivalent to the

Incremental 1 backup type available in some other Data Protector integrations.

The type of backup to be performed is specified for a Data Protector backup specification, either in

the Scheduler page, or in the Start backup dialog box for an interactive backup. However, note

that not all backup types are available for all snapshot handling modes, so this must be carefully

considered when choosing the snapshot handling mode. For details, see Snapshot handling.
