• When connecting to the network switch in the second rack (E6600-24XG or J9265A):
use a RJ45 – RS232 DB9 Serial Cable
3. Using a suitable hyperterminal, minicom, telnet program, setup a serial connection and open
a session using the following parameters:
• Baud Rate = 115200 baud
• Data Bits = 8
• Stop Bits = 1
• Parity = N
4. There are no login details required, hit Enter to receive the prompt.
5. If you arrive at a menu page, type 5 to enter the command line (CLI).
Update the switch firmware
The prompt for the switch on Rack 1 is: ProCurve Switch 6600ml-24G-4XG
The prompt for the switch on Rack 2 is: ProCurve Switch ???#
The following example shows the commands to use. The example output from the commands is
from an E6600-24G-4XG product.
1. At the prompt, enter: copy usb flash xxxx.swi primary
where xxxx.swi is the filename of the new firmware
2. At the next prompt enter y.
3. Once the switch has returned with “Validating and Writing System Software to FLASH...”
