IMPORTANT: When replacing the motherboard (or individual cards) be sure to always replace
cards into the same slot from which they were removed. It is also important to set BIOS and iLO
settings. See BIOS settings (page 24), Reconfiguring iLO (page 23) and Reconfiguring 1GbE MAC
addresses (page 25).
Reconfiguring the iLO settings
IMPORTANT: Configure the iLO3 settings BEFORE connecting the FC, network and SAS cables
to the server.
When replacing a motherboard to an existing working couplet, the iLO of the new motherboard
is set to its default configuration at manufacture (mainly DHCP and default password). The support
engineer in the field must log in to the iLO and configure it manually.
1. During the system boot process, when the prompt to Press F8 is visible, press the F8 key to
enter the iLO3 setup.
2. Enter the iLO username and password (Administrator and hpinvent).
3. Enter the internal IP address of the node (10.154.5.X, where X is the node number). Our
example shows node 3.
