The following list defines common detailed error messages and their meanings:
• If the command entered does not conform to the command syntax, the following is displayed.
Invalid number of arguments
• If a parameter which requires an argument value was provided without an argument, the
following is displayed. X shows the name of the parameter.
Parameter X requires argument
• If one of the parameters provided does not conform to the command syntax, the following is
displayed. X shows the invalid parameter.
Invalid parameter X
• If a required service set was not specified, the following is displayed.
Service set ID (SETX) not specified
• If the AD parameter was provided without specifying the required domain parameter, the
following is displayed.
Parameter 'AD' requires domain parameter
• If the auth parameter was specified with a value that does not conform to the command
syntax, the following is displayed.
Parameter 'auth' specifies invalid authentication type
• If an invalid smbSigning parameter that does not conform to the command syntax was
specified, the following is displayed.
Parameter 'smbSigning' specifies invalid argument
• If an invalid workgroup parameter is specified, the following is displayed.
Invalid workgroup name
• If the provided workgroup contains invalid characters, the following is displayed.
Invalid Workgroup
• If the server name provided contains invalid characters, the following is displayed.
Invalid server name
• If the length of the server name provided is invalid, the following is displayed.
Invalid server name length
