The following list defines common detailed error messages and their meanings:
If the command entered does not conform to the command syntax, the following is displayed.
Invalid number of arguments
If a parameter which requires an argument value was provided without an argument, the
following is displayed. X shows the name of the parameter.
Parameter X requires argument
If one of the parameters provided does not conform to the command syntax, the following is
displayed. X shows the invalid parameter.
Invalid parameter X
If a required service set was not specified, the following is displayed.
Service set ID (SETX) not specified
If the AD parameter was provided without specifying the required domain parameter, the
following is displayed.
Parameter 'AD' requires domain parameter
If the auth parameter was specified with a value that does not conform to the command
syntax, the following is displayed.
Parameter 'auth' specifies invalid authentication type
If an invalid smbSigning parameter that does not conform to the command syntax was
specified, the following is displayed.
Parameter 'smbSigning' specifies invalid argument
If an invalid workgroup parameter is specified, the following is displayed.
Invalid workgroup name
If the provided workgroup contains invalid characters, the following is displayed.
Invalid Workgroup
If the server name provided contains invalid characters, the following is displayed.
Invalid server name
If the length of the server name provided is invalid, the following is displayed.
Invalid server name length
