HP StoreOnce B6200 Maintenance and Service Guide (February, 2014)
5 Maintaining server (node components) — HP ProLiant
DL380 G7 Server
The HP B6200 Backup System uses a standard DL380 G7 for each node. The information in the
HP ProLiant DL380 G7 Server Maintenance and Service Guide should be the primary reference
source; it also contains spare part numbers. This guide contains only information that is not included
in existing documentation.

Important considerations
• Only the following components may be replaced while the node is online: PSUs and HDDs.
• For all other components the node must be offline in maintenance mode — even if the
components are hot-swappable in a conventional server or rack environment. See Putting a
node into maintenance mode (page 20).
• BIOS and iLO3 settings and 1GbE MAC addresses must be configured correctly if replacing
the motherboard.
• 10GbE MAC addresses must be configured correctly if replacing a 10GbE card.
• The cabling arrangement does not allow the fans to be hotswappable. This means that the
node has to be powered down and cables disconnected to replace a fan. Please follow the
appropriate steps from the Motherboard replacement procedure when replacing a fan within
the server.
CAUTION: When replacing server components, be careful to remove only the cabling to the
node that requires maintenance. Do not disturb any other cabling because this may interfere with
the operation of the cluster.
Configurable parts
When replacing server parts use the HP ProLiant DL380 G7 Maintenance and Server guide, but
be aware of the following HP StoreOnce Backup System specific information:
