9 Recommendations
• HP strongly recommends that restore jobs and duplicate jobs for an image not be run in
parallel.
• Concurrent restores of a given image are not supported, but you can restore them sequentially.
• See configuration files location listed in “Installing the OpenStorage (OST) plug-in with Backup
Exec (BE)” (page 11) for details regarding the configuration parameters.
• See configuration files locations listed in “Installing the OpenStorage (OST) plug-in with Backup
Exec (BE)” (page 11) for a range of values for a setting. If an invalid value is set for a setting,
the default value will be used.
• HP recommends avoiding duplicate entries in configuration files. If there are duplicate entries
in configuration files, the second entry will be taken. See configuration files location listed in
“Installing the OpenStorage (OST) plug-in with Backup Exec (BE)” (page 11).
• When naming CatalystStores, note that only the following characters and symbols are
supported. Other special characters are not supported.
◦ Uppercase letters A through Z
◦ Lowercase letters a through z
◦ Numbers 0 through 9
◦ Special characters: The underscore character ('_'), hyphens ('-'), periods ('.'), and the
plus symbol ('+').
• HP recommends that a live update be run on Backup Exec prior to installing the HP OST
plug-in. Ensure that all available updates are installed. Some essential hotfixes include:

• Currently, HP does not offer support for importing BE images on NBU and vice-versa.
