HP OpenStorage (OST) Plug-in for Symantec Backup Exec (BE) on Windows (EJ002-90980, December 2012)
6. Enter the Virtual Interface (VIF) address of the service set on which the desired LSU/store exist
in the designated box.
NOTE: You must use the data path VIF address or VIF Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN)
for the service set on the HP B6200 StoreOnce Backup System that was assigned when the
system was configured. You cannot register a storage server using the management address
or FQDN that you use to log on to the HP B6200 management console.
The data VIF for each service set can be found on the Web Graphical User Interface (GUI)
at the root of the navigation tree for the B6200 StoreOnce System. Select each required service
set(s) to be used to display its VIF IP and VIF FQDN. This can also be found in the StoreOnce
CLI by using the net show config command. This command will display the current network
template of the system, which details the data VIFs for all of the service sets.
NOTE: Symantec BE 2012 does not allow the system logon account to be used for
OpenStorage devices. You will have to create a new account by going through Add/Edit tab.
Note that the account that you will create and use for the OpenStorage device will also be
used as an identifier to grant or revoke permissions. See “Creating CatalystStores” (page 6)
for information on how to set up authentication.
NOTE: When identifying the IP address of the storage server before configuring the OST
plug-in, you need to identify the IP address of the storage server where the CatalystStores are
located. In the context of HP B6200 StoreOnce Backup Systems, this IP address relates to the
VIF (virtual IP address) of a service set, also referred to as a node. Each HP B6200 StoreOnce
Backup System may have up to eight service sets; the minimum is two service sets.
NOTE: Service set VIFs are used for data traffic and are not the same as the VIF that is used
to log onto the HP B6200 Management Console. You cannot configure the OST plug-in by
using the VIF address that you used to log onto the HP B6200 Management Console.
To identify the VIF from the HP B6200 Management Console, select the service set in the list
on the HP StoreOnce screen. Locate its VIF IP in the System Information area.
To identify the VIF from the StoreOnce CLI, use the net show config command, and locate
node-specific parameters. The following example is an extract from the command output.
