cifs add localadmin
Description of Command Function
Used the cifs add localadmin command only when CIFS authentication is set to AD. Adds
a local administrator to the CIFS server’s BUILTIN\Administrators group. The local
administrator is used also to allow users that are not Active Directory domain administrators to
perform share management on the StoreOnce appliance.

X
This object defines the service set where the NAS share is to be created. X is the numeric
index of the service set. This object is required for a multi-node system and optional for a single-node
system. If it is omitted for a single-node system, it defaults to SET1. If the object is specified (either
for a multi-node or single-node system), it must be specified in the exact position as given by the
command syntax (i.e., it must immediately follow the localadmin command).
Command Parameter Requirements
name This required parameter specifies the CIFS user or group name.
Requirements for Command Execution
The command entry must conform to command syntax.
The service set SETX object must be valid.
Successful Command Output
Upon successful completion of the command, the following message is displayed, and then the
CLI user prompt is displayed:

Command Operation during Abnormal Conditions
If command execution fails, the following message is displayed, followed by a detailed error
message, and then the CLI user prompt is displayed:

The following list defines common detailed error messages and their meanings.
If the command entered does not conform to the command syntax, the following is displayed:
Invalid number of arguments
If a parameter which requires an argument value was provided without an argument, the
following is displayed. X shows the name of the parameter.
Parameter X requires argument
If one of the parameters provided does not conform to the command syntax, the following is
displayed. X shows the invalid parameter.
Invalid parameter X
If a service set was required and not specified, the following is displayed:
Service set ID (SETX) not specified
If a local administrator with this name does not exist within the Active Directory configuration,
the following is displayed:
NAS User is not configured
