system set warrantyserial
Description of Command Function
Sets the customer’s warranty serial numbers for the various StoreOnce hardware components.
Command Syntax
system set warrantyserial {server | storageMSA | driveEnclosure |
networkSwitch} {<hostName> | <serialKey>} <partNumber> <warrantySerial>
[<carePackId>]

Not applicable – no objects exist within this command.
Command Parameter Requirements
• {server | storageMSA | driveEnclosure | networkSwitch} – This parameter specifies the device
type to be entitle.
• {<hostName> | <serialKey>} – This parameter specifies which unique device is to be entitle.
Use the <hostName> for any server type devices. Use the <serialKey> for any
storeageMSA, driveEnclosure, or networkSwitch type devices.
• <partNumber> – This parameter is the 6-character HP part number of the device (e.g., EJ000A).
• <warrantySerial> – This parameter is the 10-character HP serial number associated with the
HP part number (e.g., CZ00000000).
• [<carePackId>] – This optional parameter indicates the HP Care Pack ID number of which this
device is part.
Requirements for Command Execution
• The command entry must conform to command syntax. The <hostName> or <serialKey>
parameters must match those listed on the device. See the system show warrantyserial
command for more information.
• There are two storage-based options: storageMSA and driveEnclosure. The type of
storage in the system is listed in the system show warrantyserial command under the
heading PRODUCT TYPE. Use the appropriate product type for the device being entitled.
• The server device type applies to all devices listed in the system show warrantyserial
command under the SERVER DETAILS heading.
• The networkSwitch device type applies to all devices listed in the system show
warrantyserial command under the SWITCH DETAILS heading.
Successful Command Output
Upon successful completion of the command, the following is displayed:
Command Successful - Warranty information has been set
Command Operation during Abnormal Conditions
If the command does not conform to the required syntax, the following is displayed:
