1. Login to GUI and navigate to the appropriate Hardware — Couplet — MSA — Enclosure page
to identify the hard disk that is in LEFTOVER state.
2. Click on the Clear Left Over Disk button to re-instate the HDD into the RAID Set.
3. After 1-2 minutes, a pop up window will appear with the status of the operation.
CAUTION: Do not use any other button to clear this state.
Do not use the option on the RAIDset page to rebuild a RAID. You will lose all data within the
couplet if you use this button.

The numbers on the above drawing indicate the numbers that are used to identify the HDD within
the StoreOnce Management Console. For example, if you look at the Hardware tree for msa1,
enclosure 1, the disks are listed in the format hard_disk-1–1–1, hard _disk-1–1–11. The last digit(s)
indicate the location of the disk within the enclosure, as annotated above.
